Celebrities come in all colors and though being ethnically ambiguous can be a hurdle for some, stars have found success, maybe even because of it. Some of these stars are chameleons, with the ability to skew racial lines. Others are mixed in lineage but you wouldn’t be able to tell without a look into their family trees. Lenny is known for his retro style and talent as a versatile musician. He was born in New York City to an African American mother, Roxie Roker, who was famous for her role as Helen Willis on the hit 1970’s sitcom “The Jeffersons”. His father is Sy Kravitz and he’s of Jewish and Russian ancestry. Early on Lenny had problems getting signed because he wasn’t white or black enough, but he took matters into his own hands and recorded a demo on his own and we know the rest.
